João is a Director in H.I.G.’s London office where he focuses on investments across a range of industries, including TMT and Healthcare.

Prior to joining H.I.G., João worked at AMERRA Capital and Lead Edge Capital, both US based private equity firms. João started his career at Bain & Company, where he spent most of his time helping Private Equity firms with commercial due diligence and post-acquisition work.

João holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a MSc in Civil Engineering from the Instituto Superior Tecnico.

Luciano Anzanello

Luciano Anzanello

Luciano Anzanello is a Principal in our Milan office. Prior to joining H.I.G., Luciano spent more than twelve years in the mergers and acquisitions industry, both as advisor and investor.

As partner at Atlantis Partners in Milan, the leading independent institutional investment firm focused on Italian mid-size companies in Special Situations, Luciano focused on investments in Manufacturing, Consumer Products, Media and Green Energy companies.

Before that, Luciano was a manager with H&C in Milan, an industrial family office, where he completed several investments in a broad range of sectors and situations, including start-ups, buyouts and restructurings. Previously, Luciano worked in Camuzzi Group, a multinational utility company.

Luciano graduated in Economy of International Commerce and Currency Market from University of Trieste.

Antoine Baudesson

Antoine Baudesson

Antoine Baudesson, Principal, Paris. Prior to joining H.I.G., Antoine worked as an Investment Manager in the private equity arm of the Quilvest Group in London and in Paris, where he notably participated in the analysis, structuring and monitoring of various direct transactions in Europe, the Middle-East and Mexico. He was also involved in the Fund of Funds activity of the Quilvest Group with coverage of the French territory.

Antoine graduated with an MSc from HEC, Paris and with a CEMS Master in International Management from the Copenhagen Business School.

Jaime Bergel

Jaime Bergel

Jaime Bergel est Managing Director pour l’Espagne. Avant de rejoindre H.I.G., Jaime était le fondateur et Président de Gala Capital, un fonds de capital- investissement nommé parmi les « trois premiers fonds de capital- investissement d’Espagne » par le magazine Private Equity Investor.

Avant de créer Gala Capital en 2004, Jaime était Country Chairman chez Merrill Lynch, en charge de l’Espagne et du Portugal. Il était ainsi à la tête de la plus grande banque d’investissement et d’intermédiation financière de la péninsule ibérique, avec plus de 300 professionnels sous sa houlette. Avant d’officier pour Merrill Lynch, Jaime était Managing Director au sein de la division banque d’investissement de Goldman Sachs. Jaime a également siégé au conseil d’administration de diverses entreprises cotées ou non, dont la Bourse de Madrid. Il siège actuellement au conseil d’administration de Bacardi Limited.

Jaime est titulaire d’un MBA de l’Université de Northwestern et d’une licence en génie civil de l’Université du Texas.

Ishan is a Director in H.I.G. Capital’s London office and member of the European Middle Market LBO team, where he focuses on investments across a range of industries and is responsible for all aspects of the investment process.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Ishan worked at Terra Firma Capital Partners with 10 years of private equity experience across a broad range of industries including business services and consumer.

Ishan holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Warwick University.

Wolfgang Biedermann

Wolfgang Biedermann

Wolfgang Biedermann, Executive Managing Director, responsable des activités de H.I.G. en Europe et en Allemagne. De nationalité allemande, M. Biedermann était auparavant P.D.G de Pricap Venture Partners, une société d'investissements qu'il a cofondée en 2000 et spécialisée dans les rachats de petites et moyennes entreprises et capital développement.

Il était précédemment Managing Director de Thomas J.C. Matzen GMBH, une société d'investissement en PME, fondée par Thomas Matzen, créateur de Schroders Private Equity (aujourd'hui Permira) en Allemagne. M. Biedermann a auparavant travaillé pour Schroders Private Equity, toujours en Allemagne, et auparavant au Boston Consulting Group.

Dominik Böhm

Dominik Böhm

Dominik is a Principal in H.I.G. Europe’s Hamburg office, where he focuses on LBO and growth equity investments, in particular in the TMT and industrials sectors. Dominik is responsible for all aspects of the investment process and represents H.I.G. on the board of several portfolio companies.

Prior to joining H.I.G., he worked for six years with McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager. As part of the Corporate Finance, Private Equity and Restructuring Practice he advised various corporates and medium-sized companies and supported several M&A transactions. Before McKinsey & Company, Dominik developed software for small and medium-sized companies on a freelance basis.

Dominik earned an M.B.A., with distinction, from INSEAD in France and Singapore and studied at the University of Münster, Germany, and at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid obtaining a dual diploma degree in mathematics and computer science.

Tobias Borkowski

Tobias Borkowski

Tobias is a Managing Director in H.I.G.'s London office and member of the European Middle Market LBO team, where he is responsible for all aspects of the investment process.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Tobias co-led the private equity investment operations of a well known family office in London. Before that, he was a Principal at Rhône Group, a global private equity firm, where he focused on a diverse range of investments, including leveraged buy-outs and corporate carve-outs, across several industries and geographies. He started his career in M&A with Citigroup in London.

Tobias earned a B.A. from International School of Management, Dortmund, Germany.

Olivier Boyadjian

Olivier Boyadjian

Olivier Boyadjian, Managing Director, France. Olivier est responsable de l’équipe d’H.I.G. Capital à Paris. Avant de rejoindre H.I.G. Capital, Olivier dirigeait l’équipe d’investissement de CDC Capital Investissement qui gère un fonds d'un montant supérieur à 700 millions d’euros. Au cours de cette expérience, il a mené à bien l’acquisition de plusieurs sociétés en France.

Précédemment, Olivier était responsable du département « Leveraged Finance » de la Halifax Bank of Scotland (« HBOS ») en France où il a structuré et exécuté le financement de l’acquisition de nombreuses opérations de private equity.

Olivier est titulaire d’un diplôme de Droit des Affaires (CNAM Paris) et d’un DESS de l’université de Lyon.

Andrea is a Director in H.I.G. Capital's Milan office, where he focuses on LBO and growth equity investments across a range of industries. Andrea has responsibility for all aspects of the investment process, and sits on the board of several H.I.G. portfolio companies.

Prior to joining H.I.G. Capital in 2014, Andrea worked at Boston Consulting Group, with a specific focus on the Industrial goods sector, working on profitability and growth projects. Andrea also worked in the corporate finance department of PwC, focusing on M&A transactions in the mid-sized Italian market.

Andrea graduated in Economics and Business Administration at Bocconi University in Milan.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Antonin worked at Roland Berger for 6 years where he advised a wide array of clients on strategic and operational initiatives.

Alessandro Correnti

Alessandro Correnti

Alessandro is a Director in the London office of H.I.G.’s Bayside Capital, where he focuses on corporate stressed and distressed credit and special situations in Europe. He is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, from origination and research, to structuring, execution and portfolio monitoring.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Alessandro worked in the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse in London, where he advised clients on M&A, equity and debt transactions, primarily in the transport and logistics and business services sectors.

Alessandro earned his BSc in Economics and Finance and his MSc in Finance from Bocconi University in Milan, studying also at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics.

José Mª de León is a Principal of H.I.G. Capital based in Spain. He focuses on growth, LBO and special situations investments in the Iberian Peninsula.

Before joining H.I.G., he worked at Gala Capital Partners, a leading Spanish Mid-Market Private Equity firm, completing several transactions in a diverse range of industries and situations.

Before joining H.I.G., Richard was a member of the deal team at Terra Firma Capital Partners and, prior to that, started his career at Rothschild & Co.

Richard obtained a First Class BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics.

Stefano Giambelli

Stefano is a Managing Director in the European Middle Market team in London and is responsible for covering the Italian market as well as Consumer investments across Europe.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Stefano was a partner and founding member of Amlon Capital, an investment vehicle focused on consumer goods and retail. Prior to Amlon Capital, Stefano worked at Apax Partners and BC Partners in London and Milan. He started his career in investment banking at Citigroup and Merrill Lynch in London.

Stefano holds a degree from the Bocconi University in Milan and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Giovanni Guglielmi

Giovanni Guglielmi

Giovanni is a Managing Director in H.I.G.’s Milan office, and is responsible for the whole investment process from deal origination, transaction structuring and negotiation, to post-closing portfolio company management.

Giovanni has over 15 years of experience of private equity, mostly gained while at Synergo, a private equity firm focused on mid-market investments. While at Synergo, Giovanni, lately as a Partner, completed a number of buyouts and growth capital investments across a wide range of industries including business services, industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and information technology.

Giovanni earned a Master of Science, summa cum laude, in Corporate Finance and an undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in Business Administration from Bocconi University.

Bernardo Guimaraes

Bernardo is a Director in H.I.G. Capital’s London office and a member of the European Middle Market LBO team, where he focuses on investments across a range of industries.

Prior to joining H.I.G. he was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co. based in London, where he advised companies in their transformation and value-creation journeys. He also supported a number of Private Equity transactions in Europe. He started his career at Goldman Sachs in London.

Bernardo holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a MSc in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Tecnico.

John Harper

John Harper

John is a Managing Director and Head of the LBO Fund’s London team, responsible for leading investments in the UK, Ireland, Holland and the Nordic region. He has 26 years’ experience of mid-market private equity investing.

John started his career at HSBC Private Equity in London and Düsseldorf and subsequently held senior positions at Duke Street and LDC. Prior to joining H.I.G., he was a Partner at Inflexion. John has originated, transacted and exited numerous investments across sectors including financial and business services, manufacturing, healthcare, IT and consumer and leisure.

John speaks German and French and holds a BA in Modern Languages from Durham University.

Johannes Huttunen is a Principal in our London office, covering growth equity, leveraged buy-out and distressed investments across the United Kingdom and the Nordic region.

Prior to joining H.I.G. in 2014, Johannes worked at Silverfleet Capital, a pan-European mid-market private equity fund, where he focused on investments in the UK and Nordic region. Previously, he was at European Capital, working on UK buyouts, and in the Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Bank in London, concentrating on Mergers & Acquisitions.

Johannes obtained a First Class BSc Honours degree in Management Sciences from the London School of Economics and a Masters in Finance from the London Business School.

Rohin Jain

Rohin is a Managing Director in H.I.G.’s London office. He is responsible for all key aspects of the private investment transaction process including deal origination, transaction structuring and negotiating, and post-closing portfolio company oversight. Rohin is a member of the Investment Committee of the Europe Middle Market fund.

Rohin has over 15 years of experience in Private Equity covering a wide range of sectors, regions and investment strategies. Prior to joining H.I.G. in 2020, he lead the Healthcare Sector Team at Triton Partners. Prior to that, he worked at Mistral Equity Partners and UBS Investment Bank.

Rohin has a BScE and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Philipp Kalveram

Philipp is a Director in H.I.G. Europe’s Hamburg office, where he focuses on private equity and growth equity investments, particularly in the industrials, healthcare, and TMT sectors. Philipp is responsible for all aspects of the investment process.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Philipp has worked with McKinsey & company as a Senior Engagement Manager in private equity and strategy consulting for eight years where he advised various international corporations and private equity funds in strategy development, operational excellence, and M&A transactions.

Philipp earned an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in New York City and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and business law from EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany.

Holger Kleingarn

Holger Kleingarn

Holger Kleingarn, Managing Director and Head of H.I.G.’s German office, is a German national who has been working in the Private Equity Industry for over fifteen years. Throughout his private equity career Dr. Kleingarn has focused on mid cap buyouts, growth investments and turnarounds across Europe with a focus on the German-speaking countries.

Prior to joining H.I.G. Capital, he was a Partner and Member of the Management Committee at London-based Palamon Capital Partners, a private equity group focusing on mid-sized companies across Europe. Previously Holger led the management-buy-out of a Mittelstand software company as CEO. He started his career in strategic management consulting with Bain & Company and Roland Berger, most recently as Partner and member of its financial services management team.

Holger holds a doctoral degree in business administration from the University of Federal Armed Forces in Munich and graduated from the University of Hamburg.

Christian Kraul-von Renner is a Managing Director in our Hamburg office. Prior to joining H.I.G. in 2007, he was a senior consultant with L.E.K. Consulting in Munich and London, where he advised numerous financial and strategic investors in merger & acquisition situations. In addition, he supported larger corporations in the course of portfolio valuations and implementing growth strategies.

Before L.E.K., he worked as a consultant with the Brand Science Institute, a research-based consultancy.

Christian obtained a Diploma in Business Administration at the University of Hamburg. During his studies he worked over one year in New York and London.

Raffaele Legnani, Managing Director, heads up H.I.G.'s activities in Italy. Raffaele has been investing in the Italian private equity market since 1996.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Raffaele was founding partner of Atlantis Partners in Milan, the leading independent institutional investment firm focused on Italian mid-size companies in Special Situations. Before that, Raffaele has successfully invested in a significant number of buyout transactions, both directly and through specialized private equity funds (the London based Stellican and the US based Wexford Management) serving as operating board member for several portfolio companies. Previously, Raffaele worked in investment banking for Goldman Sachs in London.

Raffaele graduated with honors in Finance and Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan.

Stephan is a Managing Director in the European Middle Market team based in the London and is responsible for covering the Nordic region. Stephan is responsible for all aspects of the investment process.

Before joining H.I.G., Stephan was a Managing Director at BC Partners. Prior to that, Stephan worked at IK Partners. He started his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs.

Gian Matteo has 5 of experience in a broad range of industries with particular focus on the industrial and ICT sectors. Prior to joining H.I.G., Gian Matteo worked for Bain & Company where he focused on supporting the design and implementation of strategic initiatives for international clients.

Gian Matteo earned his undergraduate degree and Master of Science degree at Bocconi University.

Alastair Mills

Alastair Mills

Alastair Mills, Managing Director en charge du Private Equity et des investissements distressed au bureau de H.I.G. Capital à Londres.

Avant de rejoindre H.I.G., Alastair était Partner de Gresham LLP, au sein de l’équipe investissements, qui se concentrait plus particulièrement sur des opérations de rachat, d’achat et de montages sur le lower mid market britannique.

Précedemment, Alastair a travaillé au sein des équipes de Private Equity britanniques de RBoS et Bridgepoint Capital. Sami Mnaymneh, fondateur et co-président de H.I.G. Capital a développé la firme depuis sa création en 1993. Il approuve toutes les décisions d'investissement prises par H.I.G. M. Mnaymneh est un investisseur reconnu dans plusieurs secteurs, notamment les services aux entreprises, le marketing direct et la production. Il a par ailleurs mené de nombreux investissements de H.I.G liés aux consolidations industrielles.

Avant de créer H.I.G., M. Mnaymneh était Managing Director chez Blackstone, à New York, où il s'était spécialisé dans le conseil aux sociétés de "Fortune 100". Auparavant, il était Vice-Président dans le département de Fusions & Acquisitions de Morgan Stanley où il a conseillé les principaux fonds américains de Private Equity sur leurs opérations de LBO. Au cours de sa carrière, M. Mnaymneh a dirigé plus de 75 transactions, d'une valeur globale de plus de 10 milliards de dollars. Il siège actuellement au conseil d'administration de plusieurs sociétés en portefeuille de H.I.G.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Diego worked at Oaktree Capital Management, focusing on control and special situation investments in Europe. He began his career in M&A with UBS in London.

Diego holds a B.A. in Economics and a M.Sc. in Finance from Bocconi University in Milan.

Johannes Natterer

Johannes Natterer

Dr. Johannes Natterer est Principal au bureau de Londres. Il a débuté sa carrière chez Hoechst AG à Frankfurt en qualité de Directeur d’Usine et Black Belt en Méthode Six Sigma. Markus is a Managing Director and Head of the European Middle Market LBO Fund. He has 30 years of experience in finance and leveraged buyouts.

Prior to joining H.I.G., he was a partner and founding member of Pamplona Capital where he led a number of successful investments. Prior to Pamplona, Markus was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs and was co-head of the financial sponsors group in London. He started his career in mergers and acquisitions with Merrill Lynch in New York.

Markus graduated with honors with an MA degree in Economics from Northwestern University.

Pierre-André Olive

Pierre-André Olive

Pierre-André is a Director in the European Middle Market LBO team where he focuses on investments across a range of industries and is responsible for all aspects of the investment process.

Prior to joining H.I.G., he was with Pamplona Capital Management, a global private equity firm, where he worked on several corporate investments across industries and in Western Europe. Pierre-André started his career with the TMT Investment Banking team at J.P. Morgan in London.

Pierre-André holds a Master of Science in Management (MSc) from EMLyon Business School in France.

Thomas Petersen

Thomas Petersen

Thomas is a Director in H.I.G. Capital’s Hamburg office and a member of the European Middle Market LBO team where he focuses on investments across a range of industries and is responsible for all aspects of the investment process.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Thomas worked at Triton Partners where he focused on buy-outs in the DACH region across industries. Before that, he worked as a Consultant at BCG and as an Associate in the M&A department of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and London.

Thomas holds a MSc degree in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim.

Klaas Reineke

Klaas Reineke

Dr. Klaas Reineke est Managing Director au bureau H.I.G. de Hamburg. Préalablement, il était Directeur chez KPMG Restructuring Advisory Services à Munich. Il conseillait les Directions et propriétaires de nombreuses entreprises de taille moyenne en situation de crise; il a aussi apporté sa contribution dans des transactions de Private Equity que ce soit à l’achat ou à la vente. Avant KPMG, Klaas était Engagement Manager chez McKinsey & Company à Berlin et Singapore. Il a piloté de nombreux projets pour des multi-nationales et pour des investisseurs en les conseillant sur la gestion de leur portefeuille en matière de stratégies de développement et d’amélioration de la performance. Klaas est titulaire d’un MBA et d’un diplôme de Journaliste de l’Université de Fribourg (Suisse), où il a aussi obtenu un PhD en Business Administration. Klaas parle couramment l’Anglais et le Français.

Rick is Co-President of H.I.G. Capital with over twenty-five years of private equity and M&A experience. In his current position, along with Brian Schwartz, he directs the day-to-day operations of the firm and sits on the investment committees for all H.I.G. funds.

Since joining H.I.G. in 1998, he has been involved in all aspects of the investment process; and has held leadership positions in several of the firm’s funds.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Rick worked at General Electric Company and GE Capital. As part of the Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions team, he coordinated a variety of strategic acquisitions in the financial services, plastics, medical systems, electronics, and aerospace industries. Previously, Rick was a member of the GE Corporate Finance Staff, where he helped design and implement improved business strategies and operating processes for GE Capital business units.

Rick received his undergraduate degree with honors from Stanford University and earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Brian Schwartz

Brian Schwartz

Brian is Co-President of H.I.G. Capital. He joined the firm in 1994. In his current position, along with Rick Rosen, he directs the day-to-day operations of the firm and sits on the investment committees for all H.I.G. funds.

Since joining H.I.G. in 1994, Brian held a number of leadership positions at the firm.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Brian worked in PepsiCo’s strategic planning group. His responsibilities included managing strategic acquisitions for PepsiCo and evaluating new business opportunities. Brian began his career with the investment banking firm of Dillon, Read and Co. where he split his time between the corporate finance group and the private equity funds, Saratoga Partners and Yorktown Partners.

Brian earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his B.S. with honors from the University of Pennsylvania.

Fritz Simons

Fritz Simons

Fritz is a Director at H.I.G. Capital and is based in the Hamburg office, where he focuses on private equity and growth equity investments particularly in the business services, TMT and industrials sectors. Fritz is responsible for all aspects of the investment process.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Fritz was Co-Founder of a global venture backed by Rocket Internet and worked in business development roles across numerous e-commerce companies based out of
Berlin, Germany.

Fritz earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an MA in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford.

Tony Tamer

Tony Tamer, fondateur et co-président de H.I.G. Capital a développé la firme depuis sa création en 1993. Il approuve toutes les décisions d'investissement prises par H.I.G. Il a réalisé de nombreux investissements pour H.I.G., en LBO et en capital développement, et est un investisseur reconnu. M. Tamer bénéficie d'une grande expérience dans le développement de jeunes entreprises et de PME. Il est membre du conseil d'administration de plusieurs sociétés en portefeuille de H.I.G. En outre, il siège au conseil d'administration de la Kennedy School of Government à Harvard University.

Avant de créer H.I.G, Tony était associé chez Bain & Company, où il a conseillé ses clients, sociétés de "Fortune 500", afin de définir leur stratégie, améliorer leur compétitivité, accroitre leur productivité ainsi que diriger leurs activités d'acquisition et de cession de filiales. M. Tamer dispose d'une grande expérience et il a notamment occupé des postes de direction du marketing, d'ingénierie et production chez Hewlett-Packard et Sprint Corporation.

M. Tamer est titulaire d'un M.B.A. de la Harvard Business School et d'un Masters en Electrical Engineering de Stanford University. Il a obtenu sa licence à Rutgers University.

Adam Taylor

Adam is a Principal in H.I.G.’s London office, covering growth equity, leveraged buy-out and distressed investments across the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Adam is responsible for all aspects of the investment process.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Adam worked for Credit Suisse’s M&A Group in New York City and for Booz & Company in their London office.

Adam earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an MEng in Engineering Science from Oxford University.

Alexander Thorn

Alexander Thorn

Alex is a private equity Principal based in H.I.G.'s Miami office. He is responsible for all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, transaction structuring, financing, and implementation of post-closing growth, operational and add-on acquisition strategies. With nearly a decade of private equity experience, Alex has made investments across a wide range of industries including business services, industrials, technology and consumer/retail in both the U.S. and Europe.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Alex worked at Harvest Partners, a mid-market private equity firm, and at BHI Energy, where he led a variety of strategic initiatives. He began his career in M&A at Wells Fargo Securities.

Alex earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton School and his undergraduate degree cum laude from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in Operations Research & Financial Engineering.
